I was honoured to be commissioned to create a large, detailed illustrated piece and accompanying worksheet for EUARENAS, a pan-European EU Horizon 2020 funded research project.
“The EUARENAS consortium consists out of a composition of universities, municipalities, think-tanks, NGOs and active civil society actors, who have a common interest to explore the mechanism of participatory local democracy and the interconnection to deliberate” (description from EUARENAS website).
I worked with People’s Voice Media to devise the artwork based on notes from a number of community workshops about visions for the future of social participation, held across various European countries. It was a fascinating and inspiring project!
Using the EUARENAS colour scheme and font, this piece depicts a vibrant City Of The Future with diverse examples of people interacting with deliberative and participatory democracy.
The piece will be displayed as an A2 poster at venues around Europe and an accompanying worksheet will be used at events – photos to follow!
