ABOUT

self portrait

Hello!
I’m a freelance illustrator and designer.

I’m based in Cambridge UK, but work remotely for clients around the world.

(Please scroll down for some client testimonials)

My work includes cover art, mixed media illustrations and design of materials for musicians, writers, creative businesses and charities.

I am currently working on expanding into more book and editorial illustration work and would love to take on more projects on ecology, heritage and social justice themes.

I also have more than a decade of experience creating CD/record artwork and packaging. I have mainly worked in the spheres of folk, jazz and early music, but am always open to comissions from all genres!

Nature, travel and folklore inspire me a lot, as does mystic poetry (especially Rumi) – all of which informs my work in some way.
I’m passionate about the environment and social justice.

In my spare time, I love gardening, learning, interior design and walking my dog.

Do get in touch to discuss potential projects or collaborations!

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

“It was a pleasure to work with Lizzy on the EUARENAS City of the Future visualisation.
She has skilfully condensed a considerable amount of written information, ideas and concepts into a striking, bold and detailed illustration, representing the research results with vibrancy and energy. Her attention to detail is second to none. Lizzy was particularly attentive with how diversity was represented in the visualisation – ensuring that the imagery was nuanced and that points on equality and inclusion were embedded with ease. We know that much thought was put into the style of the visual produced, the placing of text and the response it creates in the viewer. We would always be more than happy to work with Lizzy again, and could not recommend her enough – she really brought our research to life!”
Hayley Trowbridge

“I have worked with Lizzy on three CD artwork projects now, and (if she is available!) she would always be my first choice in the future. Using a number of innovative techniques, Lizzy always creates something very special. She has a unique talent.”
Mike Vass

“We have commissioned Lizzy Doe to create our latest CD cover artworks from conception to print, and have been absolutely delighted with them. Lizzy has that rare combination of creative flair, originality, speed and technical skill, meaning that we loved her artwork from the moment we saw it, but equally importantly, her designs matched the templates exactly and were print-ready very quickly. Her use of mixed media and her passion for eye-catching colour choices make her work stand out, which is incredibly important when it comes to selling your CD amongst so many others. We have made many CDs in our career but the ones designed by Lizzy Doe are by far the most appreciated and commented on by our audience and we will continue to involve her in future projects.”
James Fagan

“I’ve been working in the music industry for 10 years, and wanted bespoke artwork that would stand apart from everyone else to sell and brand my new solo project. Lizzy Doe was an obvious choice.”
Niamh Dunne

“Lizzy is a dream to work with. She is imaginative, creative, intelligent and absolutely brilliant at grasping what is needed and delivering it in record time. She has worked for The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments for four years and in that time has produced wonderful designs for flyers, a CD cover, T-shirts, membership certificates and address labels. She has also taken some fabulous publicity photographs for us. No job is too big or too small for Lizzy and I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
